CLOSING OUT OLD CHAPTERS

Updated: Jul 14, 2020

NEW BEGINNINGS REQUIRE A CLEANSING OF THE OLD TO MAKE ROOM FOR THE NEW

Some old chapters are now coming to a close for many people- but before the new books are opened, a great and unusual cleansing will take place getting you ready for the new beginning.

“And no one pours new wine into old wineskins. Otherwise, the wine will burst the skins, and both the wine and the wineskins will be ruined. No, they pour new wine into new wineskins.” –Mark 2:22

definition of cleansing:

a process or period of time to rid the body of substances regarded as toxic, impure or unhealthy; to make clean

“…So whoever cleanses himself [from what is ignoble and unclean, who separates himself from contact with contaminating and corrupting influences] will [then himself] be a vessel set apart and useful for honorable and noble purposes, consecrated and profitable to the Master, fit and ready for any good work.” 2 Timothy ‭2:20-21‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

Cleansing always involves a process. This process may not be easy but it is necessary.

Where are you in this process?

In this process you will be required to let go of certain people; their very presence constantly brings negativity and toxicity with them- defiling you more than you know. Not knowing how to war properly in covenant relationships will allow their mess and instability to greatly affect you.

The best gift you can give yourself or someone else sometimes is the gift of good-bye.

Forgive them and move on, as this cleansing involves releasing old seasons. If you are gonna move forward in this life and into greater purpose, you must learn how to let go of what WAS to embrace what IS. Those old seasons will try to follow you as you move ahead and contaminate your new place- DON’T LET IT! This cleansing is sent to rid you of the lies of the devil, planted in you in dark nights of the soul. God wants to HEAL you completely!

This cleansing is meant to remove wrong people, wrong teachings, wrong heart motives, unhealed trauma, hurt and pain in emotions; unrighteous living and worldly ways, including areas of pride, idolatry and unforgiveness. This will require repentance on your part as God moves in to show you areas that need change and redemption. This cleansing is of wrongs done to you; when approached, you must accept their peace offerings graciously and be humble. You don’t have to be in relationship with them moving forward but you do need cleansing from the wrongs committed against you.

Press into the Lords presence in worship. Press into and take time to read the Word of God, and also take time to meditate on and soak your soul with the blood of Jesus. Allow his blood to go throughout your soul to cleanse every part that needs healing, deliverance or transformation. Ask the Lord for a great cleansing of everything that needs to go from an old season. Let the God's word cleanse you and revive you.

Closing prayer:

Create in me a clean heart oh God and renew a right spirit within me; cast me not away from your presence or take your Spirit from me; but restore to me the joy of Your salvation and grant me a willing heart to obey- in Jesus name-Amen.
