“As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.” ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭55:8-11‬ ‭NIV

The bible says when we surrender to the Lordship of Jesus, we have been added to the registry of heaven. HALLELUJAH!

Let’s get excited! There are books there ya know? Lots of them.

One of those books is called the Lamb’s Book of Life. When your name is added-it’s a game changer for you. You are now not only a child of God through the Spirit of adoption but you are also now a citizen of heaven as well.

“For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons[f] of God.15 For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” 16 The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God  and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him.” Romans 8:14-17

Your position has changed “….and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus…” Eph. 2:6

You now have access with rights and privileges as children of God that you didn’t have before. Come on-this is good news!!

“For through him we both have access in one Spirit to the Father. 19 So then you are no longer strangers and aliens,[d] but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God..” Eph. 2:18-19

So what are you doing with this new identity and position?

Look at it this way. If you get a new position at work-a promotion -into a leadership role- you carry a different responsibility and authority, right?. This new position will require you to view yourself and everything you do there differently.

You leave behind your former position for a new one.

If you do not change your thinking about who you are now and your new position of authority then you will not be effective in your new position. People will not view you with respect.

The Kingdom of God is no different. If you don’t view yourself rightly as a joint heir with Christ, you will not be effective in using your authority over the unseen realm. You must know who you are IN Christ.

As you humble yourself under His authority, He then confers upon you the right to use His name and represent Him.

You now have the access through submission and the authority in His name, to exercise those rights and establish His kingdom and will in the earth.

Decrees are Prayers of Authority

Decrees are not passive, wimpy prayers. Decrees involve authority and power. You have the backing of heaven as you remember your identity in Christ and the power in His name!

You are now seated with him in the highest heaven. Remember that- it’s time to get to work!

“You shall also decree a thing, and it shall be established for you; and the light [of God’s favor] shall shine on your way.”Job 22:28 AMPC

Decree: a formal and authoritative order, especially one having the force of law: Law. a judicial decision or order.

It’s time to take it up higher to another level in your identity. It is time to establish by royal decree the things you’ve crying out to God in prayer about.

“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.” 1 Peter 2:9

Our lives now represent the one event every creature has been waiting for-the unveiling of the mature ones- God’s sons and daughters.

Every creature on earth suffered abuse through Adam’s fall; creation did not volunteer for this.

All creation knows that when we are free of our old identity, then that sets the stage for their own release.

We all sense it but can’t put words to it. We know we were made for more than this. We too are ready to embrace the original blueprint for our lives-sonship-full inheritance.

As God begins to share His heart with you concerning His plans in the earth and in your life, you now must partner with Him in prayer and by royal decree to bring it about.

Once you hear God’s direction in those matters, you not only have the right, but the responsibility to bring heaven to earth through the decree from His Word.

A decree is you deciding how to act upon a promise by using your authority.

The word “establish” in Job 22 talks about your decree standing up, rising up, being confirmed, powerful, fixed and set in order.

It’s a place of persistence. Prayers and decrees must be consistent until they are established.

Look- this is tenacious prayer, powerful prayer, enduring prayer!

You want to see change in your circumstances? You are the one responsible to see that change happen. You are the legal agent of change in your situation and in your family.

Don’t put it in someone else’s hands- it’s your job to establish His Word by decree.

All of God’s promises can be decrees. But let’s look at The Lord’s Prayer. Jesus taught them to establish His kingdom and His will in this prayer. It’s a powerful prayer that I pray daily.

Start today by using your authority in the form of a decree!

Pray with me today: Father in heaven hallowed be Your name!  COME YOUR KINGDOM! COME YOUR WILL! ON EARTH! AS IT IS IN HEAVEN! Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors-and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil-FOR YOURS IS THE KINGDOM AND THE POWER AND THE GLORY FOREVER!

And in the name of Jesus I pray this- Amen!
