FREEDOM FROM FEAR

2 Tim. 1:7 "God has not given you a spirit of fear, but of love, power and a sound mind."

WHAT IS THE TRUTH ABOUT FEAR?

There is none. Now I'm not talking about natural fear- you know the kind that tells you not run out in front of a moving car? I'm talking about the kind that is a spirit and is sent to torment you. Fear is one ugly entity, that has a way of tormenting us like no other spirit. Fear presents lies as truth and reality, when in essence it is- FALSE EVIDENCE APPEARING REAL. The spirit of Fear is a fragmenting spirit that tears you apart from the inside out. It torments your heart, mind and emotions with feelings of doubt and inadequacy, using familiar people and memories from your past. It's goal is to make you doubt the love of God and displace you in identity. It will cause you to want to shrink back from doing what God has planned called you to do, through intimidating thoughts, emotions and imaginations. That's why we must pull back and examine our thoughts when fear is involved. Last week we talked about this in the blog post on The War for Your Identity .

BUT THE TRUTH IS... "There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love." Fear will stop at nothing to displace you in identity. It will even masquerade as light to keep you in the dark. Fear has mastered the art of making you FEEL a certain way, so you'll believe it and accept it as truth. It will manipulate your mind and emotions through witchcraft into believing and accepting it's feelings and thoughts as reality. That's how it works friends. It works through false images and illusions. It infiltrates your mind and emotions to make you feel its affects. Fear can make you FEEL misunderstood or misrepresented. Fear can make you FEEL nervous and confuse your thoughts. Fear will make you FEEL afraid with scary and vain imaginations because it is a bullying and intimidating spirit. BUT......

Psalm 46:1-3 God, you’re such a safe and powerful place to find refuge! You’re a proven help in time of trouble— more than enough and always available whenever I need you. So we will never fear even if every structure of support were to crumble away. We will not fear even when the earth quakes and shakes, moving mountains and casting them into the sea. For the raging roar of stormy winds and crashing waves cannot erode our faith in you.

PUT ON YOUR HELMET

One of the best ways to fight fear is to daily put on the helmet of salvation, and meditate on scriptures like Psalms 23 & 91 and others when the mental warfare and discombobulation starts. Get in the Psalms and read- It will settle your heart and mind. God is with you as the Great Shepherd and he will not leave you- as you place your trust in him. I can't say it enough, we must put our armor on every single day. Especially at this time of the year when witchcraft is in high gear. The whole armor described in Ephesians 6:10-20 is meant to defend you from every angle of the enemy. One translation of Ephesians 6:14 says to gird up your loins with truth-in other words-man up-the battle is on!! This battle starts between our ears and we win the war there by meditating on and declaring out loud the Word of God. You must be prepared to fight. So get that sword out warriors, clear your throat and cut the heads off of those snakes that slither your way each day. Cut off the head of that serpent Jezebel if it comes at you, so you don't find yourself hiding in a cave. You can't back down from certain spirits or they will eat you up....especially this one!

1 Kings 19:1-4 When Ahab got home, he told Jezebel everything Elijah had done, including the way he had killed all the prophets of Baal. So Jezebel sent this message to Elijah: “May the gods strike me and even kill me if by this time tomorrow I have not killed you just as you killed them.” Elijah was afraid and fled for his life. He went to Beersheba, a town in Judah, and he left his servant there. Then he went on alone into the wilderness, traveling all day. He sat down under a solitary broom tree and prayed that he might die. “I have had enough, Lord,” he said. “Take my life, for I am no better than my ancestors who have already died.”

DON'T AGREE AT ALL WITH THIS SPIRIT

Witchcraft spirits like this one is in high gear during months like October, and unfortunately Christians are out there cooperating with this mess. Stop the madness- people of God. What fellowship does light have with darkness. Most stores are selling witchcraft and displaying it as harmless. But it is far from it. Don't open the door to your home or your life by agreeing with this pagan season of Halloween-especially if you have issues with fear. We can all say that we have felt like running before, especially when controlling and intimidating spirits are working in people toward us, but we certainly must not agree with it when it is in our ability to do so. Jezebel hates prophets but you don't have to be one to be attacked or hated by it. Fear and witchcraft go hand in hand-in all its forms it is evil and it does not discriminate. It hates your children just like it hates you. It seeks to get them early so watch what they are watching on tv and in movies. Keep them close in this season, as the enemy is out to steal, kill and destroy. It wants to desensitize adults but especially children and draw them in at a young age.

HOW IT MANIFESTS

This spirit will come through men and women alike, as it is a demonic ruling spirit that works with fear- it is not a person-it is a principality. It hates true prophets and true prophetic ministry and seeks to defile it and take it over. Prophets expose this spirit so it seeks to discredit their influence in a region by casting dispersion on the ministry or the prophet. It's a lying, deceiving, counterfeit and accusing spirit that is false at the core of its nature and it uses fear to paralyze you. Pay attention to people's speech, body language and facial expressions towards you, and you will see it clearly. Most people have no idea they are agreeing with what is ruling in their region, but if their soul is opened through rebellion of any sort but especially- rejection, fear or pride, it will infiltrate them.. Pay close attention to their emotional responses or lack there of, and that will show you when you've hit the nerve of the spirit at work. For example:

  • tears is a manifestation of a controlling spirit, not just anger

  • staring off and not making eye contact is a sign of pride not just snide remarks and smirking facial expressions.

  • body language will appear stiff, puffed up or closed off revealing a stubborn, prideful or rebellious spirit at work person

  • sometimes you can see at what age the trauma began in the persons life, as a little boy/girl spirit will manifest in their body language, speech or facial expressions

It's not hard to identify once you know how it works. The nature of all demons is rooted in rejection, rebellion and pride, and the spirit of God in you will cause it to manifest.

DON'T RUN AWAY-STAND FIRM IN YOUR IDENTITY

I'm fairly certain you have all fought this spirit on some level or another whether you realize it or not. It manifests itself through prideful, spiteful, angry, controlling and intimidating personalities. I've even seen desperate cases where it has caused people to move away and start over, to escape the fear mongering tactics, glances, taunts and threats of others. We overcome such attacks by remembering who we are in Christ, and using our authority in prayer. You don't have to be afraid.

  • You have the name and the blood of Jesus-use it in prayer.

  • Close every door to fear and soak yourself in the love of God.

  • Make sure you are setting clear boundaries with people who employ bullying or intimidating tactics with you.

  • Be bold and confident in your interactions by saying no to their demands with no intent of backing down.

  • Limit your interactions with such people as much as possible because the spirit will use communications to establish a link with fear in your soul.

  • Sever any ungodly soul ties you may have with them often.

  • This spirit seeks your agreement-do not give into it.

  • Pay no attention to its seduction to think negatively about yourself or others. God will expose such spirits, its sorcery and its witchcraft in due time.

Let me encourage you today that if this is you-stop running and let truth of your identity in Christ and his great love for you- set you free. Meditate on these scriptures and also find a deliverance minister who will help process you to freedom and wholeness.
