PATHWAYS TO PEACE

WE ARE DESIGNED TO BE IMAGE BEARERS

Psalm 8:3-9  When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, The moon and the stars, which You have set in place; What is man that You think of him,
And a son of man that You are concerned about him? Yet You have made him a little lower than God,
And You crown him with glory and majesty!

You have him rule over the works of Your hands;
You have put everything under his feet, All sheep and oxen, And also the animals of the field, The birds of the sky, and the fish of the sea, Whatever passes through the paths of the seas. Lord, our Lord, How majestic is Your name in all the earth!

Ephesians 2:8-10  For you are saved by grace through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is God's gift-not from works, so that no one can boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God has prepared ahead of time for us to do.

You are wonderfully created and put together uniquely by God! You are indeed his masterpiece. You were made in His image and His likeness, and are now on a journey of discovering what it means to be made in the image of the Divine.

Genesis 1:26-27  Then God said, “Let Us make mankind in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the livestock and over all the earth, and over every crawling thing that crawls on the earth.” So God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.

You are an embodied soul and discovering the fullness of what that means will take patience and time.

God loves you and desires communion and fellowship with you, but he also desires and demands our obedience. True conversion and transformation will require something from you that at times you may not want to give or give up. God knows all about the human condition, as Jesus was the truly human one, as Son of Man; He understands our frame and he knows we are dust. We are not God in other words and he understands our weaknesses as humans; and he is more than willing to help us, teach us, support us because he loves us.

PATHS OF RIGHTEOUSNESS - Psalm 23- The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord. Forever.

We will journey together through this beautiful ancient scripture as we look at what it means to walk paths of righteousness for His name's sake.

God is known in scripture as Jireh-the One that is more than enough. God by His Spirit will empower us to please him and fulfill his will as we learn to walk the sacred paths of righteousness.

PATHS OF PEACE AND REST

Learning to walk daily with God is key to experiencing peace and rest for your life. Learning to walk the ancient paths of peace and rest, restores and renews our weary souls.

"Solitude is the place of purification and transformation, the place of the great struggle and the great encounter...the place of our salvation."

"First silence makes us pilgrims. Secondly, silence guards the fire within. Thirdly silence teaches us to speak." Henri Nouwen

Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls." Jeremiah 6:16

"This is what the Sovereign Lord, the Holy One of Israel, says: “In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength....

"Be renewed in the spirit of your mind.' – Ephesians 4:23

EXPLORING THE JOURNEY OF THE SOUL

I am no psychologist but I have been on a journey of learning about the soul, for many years. For me it has been an intense period of growth and recognition. Most of us have no idea, the effect sin has had on our consciousness and our souls, and the dissonance it brought on the human race.  The inconsistencies of that dissonance left us all in a state of bewilderment, that mentally brings us conflict sometimes on a daily basis. This conflict affects how and what we believe and how we make decisions. It affects what we value, our attitudes and our moods. The fall of mankind caused a split in the psyche of the human race that affects us all in ways we are not even aware of; resulting in believing one way and acting in a different way.

One act of disobedience brought on an awareness of self that we've always lived with and probably thought was normal-but it isn't. This intense awareness of self was not present before they ate the forbidden fruit, and it spawned a reality of fear into the heart and mind of mankind that we are all dealing with on some level still today. This birthed duality in humanity; discord, and separation from purpose and the divine nature that we are now all on a journey to regain. Christian or not, we all want peace and rest and the bliss, perfection and the seamlessness,  Adam and Eve experienced in the beginning of creation. No separation at all from the Divine-the presence of God and the peace of knowing only him and his goodness.

We all betray ourselves and our God in ways we aren't even aware of through sin and because of the Fall of mankind in the garden; so our journey together will begin with this awareness.

The spiritual condition of your heart steers the direction of your life.

(Proverbs 23:7 NKJV)

The Fall of Mankind created a split within us all mentally that needs repairing. We all struggle to discern good from evil and are striving to know what our purpose is as image bearers of the Divine. We are all seeking and searching tirelessly to find meaning, purpose and comfort as human beings.

We will discuss how to walk Soul Pathways to help find peace and joy; we will work together to identify areas in your soul that may be hurt, broken, and fragmented- requiring love, correction and healing. (Psalms 23:3 AMP)

  • Do you waste your time?

  • Are you always in a hurry?

  • Do your thoughts control you?

  • Are you hard on yourself?

  • Do you easily forgive-or harbor unforgiveness?

  • Are you haunted by the memories of your past?

  • Do you have fixed mindsets or flexible ones?

Beloved, I pray that all may go well with you and that you may be in good health, as it goes well with your soul.  – 3 John‬ ‭1:2‬ ‭ESV

Developing healthy self awareness

Your Pathway to Soul Restoration will begin with:

BODY

Your body is good and was made to work with the framework of your soul. We are interconnected as soul and body and this connection is an important one that we are all on a journey of understanding.

Have you ever heard the phrase “mind-body” connection? Or maybe this one, “You are worrying yourself to death!”

The link between the two is way more powerful than you may believe. As you begin walking the pathway to physical well-being and soul restoration, exercise can be used as a cathartic tool to relieve stress and refocus your thought patterns.

  • Do you fight mental or physical fatigue?

  • What's your coping mechanisms?

  • How do you blow off steam?
